RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for responding to, preparing and welcoming new members into the Catholic Community.

It is a journey of faith and life for all involved. A group of eight women and men form the Catechumenate team who plan the weekly process. Coming to a relationship with Jesus through scripture, prayer and knowledge of our Catholic tradition and their relevance to our lives is at the heart of the process.

Throughout, the enquirers, their sponsors and team members all have opportunities to enrich their understanding and appreciation of how God is active in their lives on a daily basis.

Through rituals, celebrated during the Sunday Eucharist, the worshipping community comes to appreciate that the Parish is indeed the primary minister of the RCIA. We are called and challenged to be a welcoming community.

Hospitality must be our hallmark.
