Did you know about the work of Catechists in our Parish? |

St Charles Borromeo Parish Ryde currently have 18 dedicated Catechists and helpers involved in teaching scripture at Putney and Ryde Public Schools. They are well supported by Fr Paul and the CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) from the Sydney Diocese.
In addition to this, we are fortunate to have student Catechists from Holy Cross College as part of our St Charles Borromeo Catechist Group. These fine young men assist us in taking the Good News to the Catholic children in our local state schools.
We have a meeting once a term (meeting room at St Charles Borromeo) and perhaps you would like to be an observer at one of these. You would be assured of a warm welcome.

The Catechists of St Charles teach scripture to Catholic children who attend Putney and Ryde Primary schools.
They also play an important role in helping the children prepare for, and then enrol in the sacramental programs
offered by the Parish.
With considerable humility, members of this ministry see themselves as “sowers of the seed”. Often, they act as the prime source of contact with the Church for many children.
The Parish provides resources and support for this fundamental and vital evangelical work in a most generous way. Catechists attend regular group meetings and those interested in joining their ranks are afforded ample guidance and support to begin with and then ongoing in-service opportunities.
