Baptisim

The Baptism Preparation Ministry involves assisting families who are presenting their children for Baptism.

A meeting is held once a month on a Wednesday evening. Families are welcomed and given general information about the Sacrament of Baptism, and specific details to help prepare for the day itself.

Two members of the team are also present at all Baptisms to help Father both in setting up the church and then throughout the celebration.

Promoting a welcoming Parish Community is at the heart of this ministry. Most new members enter the church through this sacrament and it is important that parents know what the Parish has to offer, and feel supported in their decision to baptise their child.

The first part of Baptism is, in fact, celebrating at a Mass where families are welcomed into the St Charles Community and their children are signed with the cross. The Baptism process concludes on the day of the Baptism ceremony itself, which is usually held on the third or fourth Sunday of the month at 12 noon.
