On Wednesday 21st September 2011, Young at Heart had a coach trip to the Radio Museum at Kurrajong.
It was a most interesting glimpse into the history of radio communications from the early 19th Century. Ian O’Toole, the owner of the Museum, (which receives no Government funding) is a very knowledgeable chap, having been intrigued with Radio since a ten year old, with his first crystal set.

He is a wonderful raconteur. Having a very easy manner of delivery and engaging with his audience in a very relaxed way. No question would be too difficult and if he did not have an immediate answer he would look it up!
Excerpts from Australia’s Favourite Old Time Radio Programs were played to the delight of those present.

Some of these programs featured were:
- Dad & Dave at Snake Gully Races
- Yes What
- McCackie Mansions
- George Wallace Show
- Life with Dexter on Bob Dyer Pick a Box Show
- Ada & Elsie
- Mrs ‘Obbs
A truly wonderful day of reminiscing of the “GOOD OLD DAYS’!!! |
